Listing data describes apartments advertised on the market. Depending on apartment type, period and sample composition, these figures may differ from rents under existing tenancies. Check the source, data date, geographical coverage and available sample. Missing local data is not replaced with an invented precise figure.

Official rent index: Basis and characteristics for the relevant municipality; the date is shown on the city page.
Asking rent: Observed listings; do not equate these with agreed rents or local comparative rents.
DDORF estimate: Statistical orientation with designated limits, not an expert opinion.

Legal basis: § 558 BGB: local reference rent (ortsübliche Vergleichsmiete) and § 556d BGB: rent at the start of a tenancy. The current legal text and the local basis are decisive.
