Rent index and rent check by city
For these cities, we check your rent against the official rent index.

What the rent index says
A rent index helps to classify the local comparative rent for a comparable apartment. Municipality, living space, year of construction, amenities and location can be important when selecting the right features. A current advertisement rent is not automatically the local comparative rent.
First select the city. The city page states the basis used, its as-of date and the limits of the calculator. If no usable official rent index (Mietspiegel) is available, we explicitly label any estimate as such. A calculator result replaces neither a review of the rental agreement nor individual advice.

- Basis and characteristics for the relevant municipality; the date is shown on the city page.
- Asking rent
- Observed listings; do not equate these with agreed rents or local comparative rents.
- DDORF estimate
- Statistical orientation with designated limits, not an expert opinion.
